Alpha Delta Pi is proud to support Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) through our international philanthropy effort. A Ronald McDonald House is a "home-away-from-home" for families so they can stay close by their hospitalized child. Many families travel far from home and spend weeks or months to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children – this is an awfully long time to be away from or to divide a family. The houses are built on the simple idea that a family should have no other concerns besides that of tending to the health of their child – not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night.
ADPi has contributed more than $10,000,000 to this worthwhile organization. During the 2016-2017 academic year, Alpha Delta Pi contributed more than $1,369,286 to RMHC across the United States and Canada.
Here at The University of Mississippi, we are more than dedicated to giving back to RMHC. We are honored to have our very own local Ronald McDonald House in Memphis. With a house so close to campus, our sisters are able to visit on a regular basis to prepare meals, schedule arts and crafts, help with events, and witness the direct impact of our year-round fundraising efforts.
ADPI here at Ole Miss hosts two major philanthropy events to raise money for RMHC. In the fall, we hold ADPI Burgers and Fries. We sell tickets for students and locals in the community to come enjoy a fresh and juicy burger with a side of fries. In the spring, we hold ADPI Sweet Treats. This event entails our chapter reaching out to local restaurants and dessert parlors in the Oxford community to donate all of their sweet treats! We sell all of our tickets and anyone can come and enjoy a nice treat! All of the proceeds go to RMHC!
